My first blog entry

Ohayoo gozaimasu! This is my first entry to this blog, which I hope to continue throughout the academic year 2016/2017. I am a daigaku in see in physics, and I will move to Tokyo/Saitama next year for my post-doc there. I hope to spend about 2-3 years in Japan, if the work is enjoyable.

So far, the class is a lot of fun, but also quite challenging. I have learned other foreign languages before (English, French, Latin) but the difference is that here, I have no reference point or shortcuts in my head available to me. Instead, I need to memorize every word and every expression repeatedly to make it stick.

  1. That is so cool! I've been to Japan just a few times, all week-long trips, so I can't pretend to know much. I did enjoy every one of those trips though. Also it's very exciting that this is your fourth language!

  3. Going to Japan for your post-doc sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. I hope everything you learn here makes your transition easier. がんばて!!
